Default New forged pistons

New forged pistons for our new 7.1 long bolt in connecting rods.******

2618 alloy lightweight forged pistons featuring a redesigned dish to take advantage of the Factory cadillac and MTS aluminum heads small combustion chamber.

Pistons have a 28CC CNC machined combustion chamber again redesigned to give you 10:1 depending on head gasket and combustion chamber modifications.

All the pistons have .990 x 2.93 long upgraded barstock pins standard and spirolocs included.

Pistons also have anti detonation and pressure equalization grooves standard just like the high end custom pistons.

Available in 4.32,4.35 and 4.375 diameter with 1/16-1/16 -3/16 ring package for decreased friction compared to the thicker ring packages and to take advantage of the more commonly available ring packages that general motors used in its more popular engines.
We took a long look at what the cadillac really wanted for a rod and piston combination and after having 7 inch long rods with a lightweight piston made we went even longer with the rods this time along with making a lighter piston.

For those of you that are interested in bench racing or putting together your own custom stroker combination these pistons feature a 1.555 compression height and we will offer these pistons at a competitive price when compared to a one off custom piston.

Marty, fantastic job with the rods & pistons! Unfortunately I have a relatively fresh motor now. But when I do another this is exactly what is going in it with the 4.375 pistons. Next one will have your single plane on it also and maybe your aluminum heads and definately a new roller rocker setup. youse guys r doin a great job.

Default New pistons

Great pistons great price can it be fit on a ground 2.220 crank rod journal and what would be the compression ratio with the aluminium head?? On 7.1 rods
thanks for all the great work and dedication to those great engines!

These rods are for the Cad 2.500" rod journal - HOWEVER we do have 7.1" rods for the Chevy 2.200" pin. Would still need to be a 4.300" stroke though to use these pistons. 10 to 1 compression
We also have 7.050" rods with the chrysler rod journal size. These are centered and Cad width so the crank throw doesn't need to be widened. If ground to 4.400" stroke the pistons listed above can be used.
You will need narrowed rod bearings for these rods

Default 2618 forged pistons

Hi Marty,

I am ready to buy a set of 4.320 forged pistons.

I've read that the 4032 alloy would have less thermal expansion and therefore longer life than the 2618 alloy under normal conditions, because 4032 is harder and more resistant to changing size when transitioning between cold and hot.

Is 4032 better for a daily driver and 2618 better for an engine that is pushed closer to its limits for a shorter amount of run time (racing)?

If 2618 is used on a daily driver, how much more cold cylinder wall clearance do they require and how noticable is the piston slap noise until the engine reaches operating temperature?

Unlike the forged pistons from years ago these pistons (even with the huge Cadillac bore) only require .0035 to .004" clearance.
I remember years back a 4" bore chevy with TRW forged pistons needed .007"

The cold piston noise is no longer an issue

We use the 2618 because it is softer so less brittle if pinged on.
While the 4032 alloy should have a longer wear life there is no reason the 2619 won't last 100,000 miles

Hi Marty, do you still sell a true flat top (no valve relief) forged piston and rod combo for the 500 motor with stock journals ? price ? bore and compression height ?

Pistons ($649), "H"beam rods ($495) and moly rings ($109) Package discount $1200
