Default front drive 58 chevy short wide

Here it is my front drive 58 chevy short wide. Yes I used the hole eldorado chassis minus 12 inches wheel base some off the front and rear for a total over all length of 16' bumper to bumper. Shaved almost 1000 pounds to a total weight of 3720. Custom front cross member using air bags to load and unload the torsion bars and bags in the rear drops to 1/2 inch of the ground and still rolls! Air lift bed. Hand built 16-7 wheels 245/50 16 tires. Started this project in 1987 been hooked on Cadillac every since! Engine Built in 04 comp cams edelbrock manifold holley carb. Wish more time and money!

Started this truck in 1987 wanted to build a 67-72 car hauler with dual trailer axles and a low bed to get in parking garages. Wild dream huh with no money for the bed I wanted or a good doner c10, but I did have a 58 bare cab and fenders. So apart comes the 71 eldo and some cutting on the cab and more cutting and welding. the next thing i knew was it was going to be low and with all the mini trucks being lowered i was going to have american iron even lower!

Default Cool!

The only thing more cool than your truck is that rendering with the Caddy nose. You gotta do it....

Excellent build and ride! Tell us what you think about the front drive in a truck, is this something you would do again?
