JM, I have lost long responses on lists. So now I write them on my email setup (to myself). I copy & paste the long response to the list, no more problem. Bruce Roe

I'm not quite following you there Bruce. If you are referring to my comment of no information other than the picture blurbs... There never was. The pics are all that the magazine did on the car.
Many times I have sent myself e-mails like you describe though. Thanks ~JM~ |

"I am so pissed right now!!!
I just typed a long response & then when I tried to backspace to correct a word... The whole effin thing disappeared. This isn't the first time this has happened to me on this forum either." ********************************************** JM, I write on my email account to avoid the above. Then copy & paste to the list. Even if its dropped, I can copy & paste it again. Bruce |

well, I am looking into exactly what the oiling issues are with the early 472 engines. does any one know if it is something that can be fixed easily? what I am thinking about is running a 500 crank in the 472. I like the idea of just swapping out the crank, and having a fresh grind on it. is this a good Idea? I have done a bit more reading, and am wondering about going with an offset grind on a 500 crank. where chevy parts are a lot less expensive, and the super strong parts are easy to find, is there a good reason for not running H beam chevy rods, and pistons? I just thought I would throw this out there for you guys with experience to comment on. I want to make the bottom end strong enough to handle 10 pounds of boost (or more if it will survive). once the bottom end is done, te top end isn't bad. with the right cam and, valves, and springs, I should be able to get a little higher RPM out of it too. but like I have told some of my friends that I go to the dunes with, if I can make 600HP(I hope) under 5000 PMs, I don't think I really need to rev a motor to 7000!
